ASK® URITEST 2A
PURPOSE
The ASK Uritest® 2A is, a urine strip contains 2 reagents, used for the detection of Glucose and Protein. The results may provide information regarding the status of carbohydrate metabolism and kidney function.
PRINCIPLE
a. Glucose: The test is based on a double sequential enzyme reaction.
1st : glucose oxidase catalyzes the formation of gluconic acid and
H2O2 from the oxidation of glucose.
2nd : peroxidase catalyzes the reaction of H2O2 with a KI chromogen
to oxidize the chromogen to colors ranging from green to brown.
b. Protein: The test is based on the detection of “protein + tetrabromphenol blue
-------- > yellow green and green to green blue”.
